  15. No, the flakiness is due to the age of the machine & on some, possibly 
  16. incorrectly placed diodes. I almost burned some traces off my motherboard 
  17. recently trying to figure out why a seagate SCSI2 drive would hang my 
  18. bus, itself, or both when writing & low-level formatting. There are some 
  19. major compatibility problems in my experience that probably came close to 
  20. destroying my system, fortunately I am familiar with the smell of burning 
  21. phenolic! ;^]
